The Solomon Islands – Loss of biodiversity, territory, homes

A new study provides evidence on the submersion of entire islands in the Pacific. Five tiny islands have been lost to sea level rise, seeing the disappearance of rich patches of biodiversity. Coastal erosion has eaten up more than half the habitable area of another island, Nuatambu Island, submerging 11 houses and leading to the relocation of its people.
